B-52s Pierson selling Woodstock motel
Cloey Callahan reports in the Times Union that B-52s singer Kate Pierson is selling Kate’s Lazy Meadow motel in Woodstock, after operating it for 18 years along with her wife Monica Coleman. The 10-unit motel on 6.5 acres off Route 28 and on the Esopus Creek is listed at $2.2 million. “Kate’s Lazy Meadow has been a labor of love for both me and my wife Monica — who has been the one really running the business for the last 18 years,” said Pierson in a written statement. “We love it so and we’ve put so much of ourselves into it. We’ve enjoyed the property as our own little ‘love shack’ when we’ve hosted a few family and friends gatherings through the years. But now it’s time for Monica — a gifted ceramic artist and Jewelry artisan — and me to focus on our artistic endeavors.” The motel is fully booked on weekends only until September, and Pierson and Coleman will operate it until then. After that, it is up to the new owners. Read more about this story in the Times Union.
