Richard Moody reports for Columbia-Greene Media that a new ShopRite opens in the former Price Chopper store in Greenport Dec. 2. The 63,500- square-foot store, is expanding its offerings. “We are going to have sushi made fresh daily, and that’s new, and a hot Asian food bar,” Store Director Tim Lyons said. “We will also have an expanded offering of cheeses.” And there will be fried fish. “We hired the Price Chopper seafood manager to help us with that,” Lyons said. The store also delivers from Niverville down through Claverack and Hudson to as far south as Red Hook in Dutchess County, and into Catskill, South Cairo, and up into Athens and Coxsackie in Greene County. The former ShopRite building, down the street on Healy Boulevard, will remain empty until a new tenant is found. Read the full story at HudsonValley360.com.
