The Dutchess County Interfaith Council and the area's Islamic congregations are holding a "Walking the Walk" Unity March and vegetarian potluck meal and discussion from 5:30-8:45 p.m. June 5 across the Hudson River. The walk begins on the Poughkeepsie side of the Walkway On The Hudson at 5:30 p.m. Parking is available on Parker Avenue, and a vegetarian potluck dinner follows from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m., at Poughkeepsie's First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 325 Mill St. The dinner is vegetarian Kosher and in Muslim Ramadan tradition of the Iftar meal. The Dutchess County Interfaith Council Board includes Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, and Bahai congregations and nonmembers.
