Rains cause more combined sewer overflows locally

June 12 in Rensselaer there was a two-hour combined untreated sewer overflow of 100 gallons per minute, or 12,000 gallons, into the Hudson River. On June 11, heavy rains caused 24,700 gallons to flow into the Hudson River at Rensselaer. On June 10 Albany released 200 gallons per minute for five hours, again because of heavy rains. And in Kingston June 10, 500 gallons per minute of sewage was released into the Rondout Creek for 24 hours.
