The COVID-19 deaths keep coming locally

The Times Union reported that Albany County passed 300 total COVID-19 deaths Jan. 27. “The rate we’re going we’ll be averaging over one (death) a day when we hit 12 months into this, which is sad to think about,” Albany County Executive Dan McCoy said. The Daily Freeman also reported two more coronavirus deaths in Ulster County on Jan. 27, for 66 this month, 106 since the start of December, and 207 total. Ulster County also announced 90 new COVID-19 cases, while Dutchess County reported two more COVID-related deaths, and 231 new diagnoses of coronavirus. In Greene County there were 24 new positive tests, with 40 more cases in Columbia County and 84 in Rensselaer County.
