Suspended super enters 'not guilty' plea

Wendy Liberatore is reporting for the Times Union Michael Vanyo, the Ichabod Crane School District superintendent, pleaded not guilty in Wilton town court to charges of drunken driving and leaving the scene of an accident, April 23. Vanyo, 51, appeared before Judge David Towne and following his plea immediately left from a side door before court officially began at 2 p.m. Vanyo will return to court on April 29, to address the status of his driver's license, his attorney Jonathan Cohn said. Vanyo was arrested April 6, after he allegedly crashed his 2008 Jeep into an occupied vehicle on Maple Avenue and Smith Bridge Road in Wilton. Deputies said he fled the scene and was found at his Saratoga Springs home, intoxicated. Sanyo is currently on unpaid leave from his duties as superintendent. Read the full story in the Times Union.
