Greene County bus travels between Catskill and Hudson
Oct 07, 2019 12:23 am
Jeanette Wolfberg in the Columbia Paper tells the story of bus Route 711, which for a year has taken commuters back and forth from Catskill to Hudson on weekdays. “We get a lot of college students, nurses who work at Columbia Memorial Hospital, and people who get on somewhere, go shopping, and come back,” said a driver of the white 16-passenger van run by Greene County. The bus is meant for Greene County commuters to get dropped off at Columbia-Greene Community College in Greenport, at Columbia Memorial Hospital and at the Amtrak train station in Hudson. In Catskill, the vehicle picks up riders at the Price Chopper grocery store, the high school, and the court house. Riders can also hail the van along the route, and ask the driver to get let out along the way. The bus leaves Catskill stops between 6 a.m. and 9:30 in the mornings, and leaves Hudson stops for Catskill between 3:40 and 6:55 p.m. weekdays. Read more about this story in the Columbia Paper.
