The Times Union is reporting the state Department of Taxation and Finance announced it is extending the hours of the Income Tax Call Center through April 15. The call center, (518) 457-5181, will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. Representatives handled more than 1 million calls during last year's tax season. One of the most common questions Call Center representatives answer is: "When will I receive my refund?" Taxpayers can save time by checking their refund status on the department website, www [dot] tax [dot] ny [dot] gov.
