Mar 19, 2019 1:45 pm
The Daily Freeman is reporting Charter Communications Inc./Spectrum Management Holding Co., the company that provides cable TV and internet service to New Yorkers, has started issuing credits to customers under a $174 million settlement deal reached with the state late last year, the New York Attorney General's Office announced March 19. The settlement with Charter/Spectrum was the result of the company defrauding internet subscribers by failing to provide internet service and promised speeds and quality. Under the terms of the settlement, the company is issuing refunds, in the form of credits, to qualified customers. It is also providing certain video movie channels and streaming services at no charge. According to the AG's office, customers do not have to complete any paperwork to obtain the credit, but they must contact Spectrum to receive the free additional services. Customers have until May 30, 2019, to select the free premium and streaming services by calling (833) 422-8795. Read the full story in the Daily Freeman.
