Residents concerned about gun range

Nov 16, 2018 1:30 pm
Sarah Trafton is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media the Catskill Zoning Board of Appeals determined November 14, that a local gun range will require a special-use variance to continue hosting law enforcement training at the facility. Sheepdog Warrior Shooting Range, located at 104 Haines Falls Road, requested the board interpret the zoning code after Code Enforcement Officer Elliot Fishman served the range with a cease and desist letter. Fishman took the position that because Sheepdog was hosting law enforcement training, the range was going beyond recreational use and would require a special-use variance. The meeting was standing room only with several residents voicing their concerns. The ZBA public hearing on the matter will be held Dec. 12. Read the full story at HudsonValley360 [dot] com.
