Rector says Bryant resigns

Amanda Purcell reports for Columbia-Greene Media that Hudson Mayor Rick Rector said Nov. 28 that Mark Bryant has resigned as the city’s Youth Commissioner for health reasons. “Mark has sent his thanks for having the opportunity to serving as youth commissioner and the chance to work with the youth of this city,” Rector said. “I, along with the community, extend my best wishes for a speedy recovery and send my thanks for his dedication to the youth and his service as Commissioner.” Bryant's reported resignation follows a period of conflict between the Mayor's Office and the Youth Department. Earlier in the month, Rector claimed Hudson Youth Director Nick Zachos had stepped down, demoted to recreation attendant level four, while others maintained that Zachos was fired. Rector eventually reinstated Zachos as Youth Director. It is unknown if the paper attempted to contact Bryant directly about his resignation.
