Mar 12, 2025

Tune in today's "WGXC Afternoon Show" for an interview with Tara Rodgers (Analog Tara) conducted by Wave Farm Radio Director Meredith Kooi. In the interview, Tara talks about two upcoming events she has in the area this week including at Bard on Thursday, March 13 at 4pm, where she is premiering work from her forthcoming album "life of the mother," and at EMPAC on Friday, March 14 at 6pm, where she is giving a retrospective concert, pulling from the past twenty years of her body of work. The two also talk about how Tara got her start in electronic music and where we're at today when it comes to gender, politics, electronic music, and freedom.

Tara Rodgers (Analog Tara) is a multi-instrumentalist composer, sound engineer, and historian of electronic music. She is the author of the 2010 volume Pink Noises: Women on Electronic Music and Sound and has written numerous essays on the history of sound and synthesizers. Her research and music explore electronic sound as material and metaphor, with studio practice as a hands-on parallel to study of the long history of electronic music and sound.
