The Mid-Hudson News Network reports that on June 6 the Ulster County Conservative Committee endorsed Sheriff Paul VanBlarcum for re-election in November. VanBlarcum is a Democrat, who did not get his own party's nomination. Instead, Ulster Democrats backed former State Trooper Juan Figueroa. Republicans and the Independence Party also endorsed VanBlarcum, who is running in the Democrats primary too. “I made a promise 12 years ago to be the best sheriff of Ulster County to all our residents that I could be.
