Bill Williams is reporting for WCTW-FM Tue., Dec. 10, was a tough one for commuters on the Rip Van Winkle Bridge and the Greenport roundabout, after four accidents occurred in less than 12 hours. Greenport Fire and Rescue was called to a two-car accident just before 8:30 a.m. The second crash happened in the backup from the first accident. In the first incident, an older woman was examined after complaining of head pain, but there were no injuries reported in the second. Greenport Fire and Rescue once again responded just after 5:30 p.m. when two cars crashed into each other at the roundabout. As crews were tending to the occupants of those vehicles, two other cars collided on the opposite side of the circle, just like occurred that morning.
