Nathan Mayberg reports in the Register Star the Columbia County Board of Supervisors approved the county's 2013 budget, Wed., Dec. 12. The spending plan totals $155 million. It will decrease the tax levy by .4 [point four] percent. Spending will increase by $10.5 million. The county was able to lower the tax burden in part because of a projected $5 million increase in sales tax revenue next year. Read the full story in the Register Star.
