The National Weather Service says there will be rain in Earlton, mainly after 10 a.m. Wednesday. High near 46. Wednesday night rain is also likely, mainly before midnight, with a low around 39. The forecast for the rest of the week:
• Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 47.
• Friday: A chance of rain and snow showers before 1 p.m., then a slight chance of rain showers in the afternoon, which may turn to snow showers after dark.
• Saturday: A chance of rain and snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 39.
• Christmas Eve: A 30 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27.
• Christmas Day: A chance of rain and snow. Cloudy, with a high near 40.

• "Live from the Red Dot Open Mic," 9-10 p.m.: Second annual Christmas sing-a-long at the regular Wednesday night open mic at the Red Dot Restaurant and Bar. Rob Johanson hosts every week, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., with the 9-10 p.m. hour live on WGXC 90.7-FM and wgxc.org. This week, carols will be sung. As always, anyone can turn out to sing or play an instrument, or, perhaps, find an unexpected collaboration.
