Out-of-county company wins Cairo contract

Nancy Kern reports for Columbia-Greene Media that the first effort to build infrastructure for a proposed industrial park off Route 23 in Cairo went to out-of-county contracters. Delaware Engineering of Albany awarded a contract for $961,900 to Rensselaer-based construction firm American Evergreen, LLC. They will extend water and sewer service to the 106-acre vacant lot across from the McDonald’s in hopes of luring businesses. The Greene County Industrial Development Authority is the lead agency on the project. An orthopedic surgeon, Dr. James Schneider, owns the land. Read more about this story at HudsonValley360.com.
