Jeanette Wolfberg reports in the Columbia Paper that beginning March 30 the the Greenport-Hudson shopping shuttle bus will run later. Currently the bus stops running just after 3 p.m., but will add extra loops until about 6 p.m., but just as an experiment for three months. The Public Transportation Subcommittee of the Columbia County Board of Supervisors also discussed last month how to publicize the change and how to notify riders about bus cancellations, delays, accidents, and other emergencies. They mentioned flyers, text messages, or asking a local radio station to make announcements. The committee is also discussing installing bus shelters at stops to protect riders from the weather.
