After indictments, Abelove stays in office

Ayla Ferrone reports for News10 in Albany that Rensselaer District Attorney Joel Abelove will stay in office despite being indicted Dec. 1 for felony perjury and two counts of official misconduct. Abelove was investigated by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman for his handling of an April 2016 fatal police-involved shooting in Troy. Abelove says he won't resign. “I will not be distracted because I am confident in my position we will seek dismissal of these charges or a speedy trial so that our citizens are not disadvantaged by a long and drawn out public spectacle.” Read the full story at the News10 website.
