Jan 04, 2021 1:30 pm

Emily Jacobs and Ebony Bowden are reporting for the New York Post U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik disclosed in an interview Mon., Jan. 4, she will object to certification during the Electoral College process Wednesday. In a statement, the Schuylerville Republican said she would oppose certifying so-called "contested electors" when Congress convenes to make Joe Biden’s election victory official. “I plan to object to certain contested electors on January 6,” she said in a statement. “I do not take this action lightly. I am acting to protect our Democratic process. Article II and the Twelfth Amendment of the Constitution make clear that I have an obligation to act on this matter if I believe there are serious questions with respect to the Presidential election.” Stefanik is joining 140 of her GOP congressional colleagues and a group of 12 Republican senators in a last-ditch effort to hijack the electoral process. The Electoral College went 306-232 for Biden, but President Donald Trump has alleged that fraud tipped the results in swing states. The courts have overwhelmingly rejected those claims, and Trump has refused to concede. Read the full story in the New York Post.
