Biden stumps for Delgado in Kingston

John W. Barry reports in the Poughkeepsie Journal that former Vice President Joe Biden called the Hudson Valley “one of the most beautiful parts of the world,” Oct. 26 at a campaign event for Democrat Antonio Delgado in Kingston. “It’s time to stand up, dammit,” Biden said in front of 650 people at the rally. “It’s time to remember who we are. There is nothing beyond our capacity. And I’ll say it again, that this country has to come together.” Delgado is running against Republican John Faso Nov. 6 in New York's 19th Congressional District. “One thing I’ve learned, everywhere I go… people are desperately looking for people of character in public office, people who simply tell the truth,” Biden said at the event. “It sounds ridiculous to be saying that… In order to restore America’s stature at home and abroad, we have to find those people — and that’s why I’m here… Antonio’s one of the rarest folks out there these days.” Read the full story in the Poughkeepsie Journal.
