Local COVID-19 case count numbers now resemble the first days of vaccination availability locally, rather the end of a global pandemic. Greene County announced 57 more cases on Sept. 27. That gives Greene County 158 current cases, and a seven-day rolling average testing positivity rate of 6.6 percent. On Sept. 28, Columbia County added 22 new cases, for 114 total. The day before Columbia County 21 new cases, and another death. It was the 102nd in Columbia County since the pandemic began, while 79 Greene County residents have died. Ulster County reported one new fatality Sept. 27, bringing its total to 280.
