Emergency preparedness training to be offered at Taconic Hills school

Taconic Hill Central School District has announced the New York National Guard trainers will share disaster preparedness and recovery tips at the high school performing arts center Mar. 5. The training is presented in conjunction with the state Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services. Attendees will be given the knowledge and tools to prepare for emergencies and disasters, like developing a family emergency plan, stocking up on emergency supplies, and registering for NY-Alert, the statewide emergency alert system. The event is part of Gov. Andrew Cuomo's Citizen Preparedness Corps Training Program. The training begins at 6:30 p.m., Tue., Mar. 5, and lasts just over two hours. A similar training session is scheduled to take place May 4 at the Chatham Synagogue in Chatham Center. Read the full press release at the Taconic Hills School District website.
