PSC gives Charter an extension

Apr 07, 2018 12:10 am
Larry Rulison reports in the Albany Times Union that on April 4 New York's Public Service Commission gave Charter Communications more time to respond to allegations that it has not fulfilled the requirements to expand high-speed internet under its 2016 merger deal with Time Warner Cable. Charter wanted 45 more days to respond, but the PSC only gave them 30 days. Charter's Spectrum cable network was required to expand to 36,711 new residential or business locations that don't have access to high-speed internet by December, and the company was supposed to report results by April 9 or face a potential $1 million fine. Now, May 9 is Charter's deadline. Read the full story in the Albany Times Union.
