The Daily Freeman is reporting that the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office will continue to process pistol permits as before even after state gun laws change in September. He also said his agency will do everything possible to limit those wait times. Imperati said the new law will require applicants to attend an extensive firearms safety course and provide information on their social media accounts as part of enhanced background checks. He said that some jurisdictions have stopped taking applications at this time due to the increased waiting times. Read the full story in the Daily Freeman.
