Natasha Vaughn is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media a water main break near the Ocean State Job Lots Plaza in Kinderhook disrupted water service along Route 9 around 9 a.m., Wed., Feb. 10. “They’re working on it now,” Kinderhook Town Supervisor Patsy Leader said. “It’s just on Route 9 from the circle down to the water tower, just along the main road there.” It is unclear when the work will be completed and the water will be turned back on, Leader said. Town officials issued a Code Red for the break, which lets residents and businesses know the water is being shut off. When the water is turned back on, a boil-water advisory will be in effect for the village of Valatie. Several business were affected by the shut off. Columbia Memorial Health announced online that as a result of the water main break, some of their care centers may be impacted, including Kinderhook Medical Center, Valatie Family Care, Blood Draw, Valatie-Pediatrics and CMH Rapid Care-Valatie.
