Michael Ryan is reporting in The Daily Mail Jewett Town Supervisor Carol Muth has announced her resignation, effective Oct. 31. She made the public announcement of her decision to step down during a town board meeting earlier this week. Muth has been in public service for 30 years. She was re-elected to a four-year term in 2013. A special election will be held in 2015 to determine who will complete the last two years of her unexpired term. The town council will name an interim supervisor later this month. Muth said her decision to stand down was due to various health issues and a desire to give time and attention to her 92-year-old parents. “I am grateful for the privilege of having served our town...," Muth said.
