The Daily Freeman is reporting the unemployment rate during the month of February throughout the Mid-Hudson Valley and Catskills has decreased since the same period last year, according to data released by the state Department of Labor, March 26. Greene County reported an unemployment rate in February of 4.7 percent, down from 6.2 percent in 2018; during that time the jobless rate in Columbia County was 3.7 percent, down from 4.7 percent. Unemployment rates in Delaware, Dutchess, Sullivan and Ulster counties also declined. The statewide jobless rate in February 2019 was 4.4 percent, down from 5.1 percent in February 2018.
