Mayor takes issue with police-court process

Jan 06, 2015 12:02 am
John Mason is reporting in the Register Star controversy has erupted between the mayor's office and a member of Hudson Common Council over the city's proposed police-court complex, currently in development. Mayor William H. Hallenbeck, Jr., has accused First Ward Alderman Nick Haddad of excluding the mayor and his aide, Eugene Shetsky, from the design portion of the process. Haddad denied the mayor's office has been circumvented. Hallenbeck said his office started receiving calls about the proposed design after a rendering of the facility appeared online. The mayor is calling for a public hearing on the plans. A meeting to address the lack of communication has been scheduled for later this week. The mayor, his aide, Haddad, police and court personnel, and the project contractor are all expected to be in attendance. Read the full story in the Register Star.
