Hunter starts the year with new laws

Jim Planck is reporting in The Daily Mail the town of Hunter has adopted amended regulations concerning junkyards and scrap metal recycling facilities. New measures regulating site plan review, mobile homes, timber harvesting and small-scale mining were also adopted. The laws were developed by the Land Use Committee over a period of 14 months, and approved by the Town Board last month. The revision of the land-use laws was supported financially by the city of New York in an effort to help protect its water quality. A revisions of the town's stormwater law is expected in March.
