Foundation pays off Woodstock Film Festival's mortgage

The Daily Freeman is reporting the Lozen Foundation has stepped in to keep the Woodstock Film Festival headquartered in the town where it was founded. The festival announced in a press release the foundation had paid off its mortgage, giving the festival clear title to the property it occupies at 13 Rock City Road in Woodstock. Neither the festival or the foundation would say how much was owed on the loan. The Woodstock Film Festival Board of Directors decided to put the building up for sale last year, citing the financial strain the COVID-19 pandemic placed on the organization The Lozen Foundation is a private foundation founded in 2019 and is based in Saugerties. As of 2019 the foundation had $16 million in revenue and $954,100 in assets. The Woodstock Film Festival is a multiday event featuring movie screenings, concerts and panel discussions; it has been held in the fall each year since 2000.
