Sauerkraut business moving to Hudson

Rosa Acheson is reporting in the Register-Star Whitethorne LLC, a certified organic, fermented foods operation, is relocating to the former Coarc Contract Manufacturing warehouse on N. Second Street in Hudson. The business is currently housed at Hawthorne Valley Farm in Ghent. “Hudson is such a microcosm of the county right now and we’re looking forward to being grounded here,” Farm Production Enterprises Director Andreas Schneider said. “The space is much bigger and is going to allow us to expand as much as we need to.” The building contains 21,000 square feet of open floor space and includes a loading dock. Schneider said more than a dozen jobs will follow relocation of the sauerkraut business; in production to start, followed by sales positions as the company grows. Hawthorne Valley Farm currently produces approximately 15 lacto-fermented products, distributed locally and across six states, including Whole Foods stores. Read the full story in the Register-Star.
