The Daily Freeman reports that the Sears department store in the Hudson Valley Mall will close in April. The mall will have empty anchor spaces then, as J.C. Penney closed in 2015, and Macy's closed in 2016. Target is the largest anchor store remaining. Sears is closing 100 stores, including some Kmart shops, nationwide. Liquidation sales begin at the closing Sears stores next Friday. The Sears auto repair center in the Ulster County mall will close in late February. Read the full story in the Daily Freeman.
