Local arts groups, municipalities receive REDC funds

Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that more than $763 million in economic and community development funding Dec. 18 through Round Eight of the Regional Economic Development Council initiative. Locally, several arts organizations in Columbia County, and a few municipal water and sewer systems on both sides of the Rip Van Winkle Bridge got awards. The Ancram Opera House Theater, Basilica Hudson, Bindlestiff Family Variety Arts, Inc., PS/21, Inc., and the Shaker Museum & Library in Columbia County and the Stephen Petronio Dance Company, Inc. in Greene County all got money for local arts organizations. The City of Hudson, and the Villages of Chatham, Coxsackie, and Tannersville all will be getting funds, as will Columbia-Greene Community College, Kite's Nest, Red Barn Hudson, and the Abner Perry House in New Lebanon.
