Allen Kovler, Catskill resident and former Director of Public Relations at Columbia-Greene Community College, has been selected a finalist in the 2018 Great American Song Contest, according to a post on his Facebook page. "Is It Love Yet" was named under the Country category. Kohler recorded the song in Nashville in the late 1980s, and Trisha Yearwood made the demo. It later released as a single by indie artist Joanne Redding. Contest winners are expected to be announced in the coming week. The Great American Song Contest was first held in 1999.
