Paid sick leave moving toward law in Albany

Nick Reisman reports at New York State of Politics that, spurred by the COVID-19 coronavirus spread, state lawmakers have begun working on paid leave legislation. "I think the members want to come up with something. We just have to work out the details," Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie said March 10. The bill will include those who have been quarantined due to the spread of COVID-19. Gov. Andrew Cuomo proposed similar legislation earlier this year, so it should have no trouble getting a signature if the measure passes the Democratic-controlled Assembly and Senate.
