Legislature mulls action against Athens business

W.T. Eckert reports in The Daily Mail Greene County legislators are considering legal action against local business Athens on the Hudson to collect $196,000 in unpaid development loans. The loans were made five years ago by the Greene County Legislature as part of county's low-interest Quantum Fund loan program, to fund the renovation and expansion of the former Hagar's Harbor Restaurant and Marina in Athens. The last monthly installment on the loan was made in 2011. The Economic Development Committee unanimously recommended action be taken against the company and its trio of owners to collect the unpaid loans.
