Catskill schools looking to hire four part-time armed officers
Bill Williams is reporting for WCTW-FM, "The Cat," the Catskill Central School District has announced an extra-curricular opportunity for the 2018-19 school year for four, part-time "Armed Retired Officers." The positions pay $25 an hour. Williams reports the district has budgeted $100,000 for the part-time jobs. Once hired, the armed officers will be subject to district training and assigned to the elementary, middle and high schools. The successful candidate must have a minimum of seven years law enforcement experience and the posting encourages city, state, county and federal officers to apply. A valid New York state pistol license and "knowledge of the penal law and the ability to interact with law enforcement" is required.
