New school year, new assistant principals in Catskill

Anthony Fiducia is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media the Catskill school district has appointed two new assistant principals -- Matthew Robinson, at Catskill High School, and Junait Shah at Catskill Middle School. The positions were created last year, Catskill School Superintendent Ronel Cook said. Cook said assistant principals play an important role in school leadership. “To have additional administrative support is beneficial to enhance leadership — it is critical in getting the work done that needs to be done,” he said. Robinson came to Catskill from the Troy City School District and previously worked in the Voorheesville Central School District. He is a resident of Guilderland. Shah comes to Catskill from Stissing Mountain Middle/High School in Pine Plains. He previously taught Spanish in the Baldwin Union Free School District and Lansingburgh City School District.
