Faso leading Teachout by one point
Matthew Hamilton is reporting at Capitol Confidential a Time Warner Cable/Siena College poll has Republican John Faso leading Democrat Zephyr Teachout by one point in the 19th Congressional District race. The poll was released late Tue., Sept. 27. The poll has Faso ahead of Teachout 43 to 42, and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump ahead of Democrat Hillary Clinton by five points. Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg said nearly half of those surveyed have not yet heard from Teachout's campaign, and more than half have still not heard from Faso. Teachout leads in Ulster and Dutchess counties by 15 points. Faso leads in the Capital Region by 19 points. Faso and Teachout are competing to replace Kinderhook Republican Chris Gibson, who announced at the beginning of his third term that he would not seek reelection.
