NWS warns of elevated fire potential

The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Special Weather Statement warning of elevated fire weather potential for Fri., Oct. 20 throughout the region. Dry conditions continue across eastern New York resulting from the lack of precipitation. Winds are expected to gust up to 25 mph throughout the day. These winds will combine with warmer than normal temperatures in the 60s, along with a dry airmass, to create an elevated fire condition.
