John Mason is reporting in the Register Star a consortium of social service organizations and individuals in Columbia and Greene counties, the Columbia-Greene Housing Coalition, are currently collecting information about homeless individuals and families in Columbia and Greene counties. The survey circulated by volunteers asks where people slept Jan. 31, in addition to seeking information about their general living arrangements and demographic data. In 2013, the survey identified 112 people as homeless, 29 of them children. Most were in temporary housing, but four people did not have shelter for Jan. 31.
