Lauren Kalil is reporting for CNYCentral [dot] com beginning September 1, 2010, a lower blood alcohol level limit will be in effect for anyone in New York who hunts while drunk. Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed new legislation October 23, to make the legal limit to hunt the same as the legal limit to drive a car or a boat, or .08 percent. Under current law, the blood alcohol content threshold for being charged with hunting while intoxicated is .10 percent. “An individual who is too intoxicated to drive a car or pilot a boat is also unfit to engage in hunting and the increased risk is not only to the hunter, but to everyone else in the field,” the law states. Similar legislation has been passed in Maine, Minnesota, New Hampshire and West Virginia. Read the full story at CNYCentral [dot] com.
