Another Greene County resort is sold
Andrea Macko reports at Porcupine Soup that another long-time Greene County resort property has been sold. The 16.5-acre Acra Manor was sold on June 3 for $1,960,000 to Tiferes Chaim, Inc. of Lakewood, NJ, a non-profit Jewish organization. Nadina Truini, general manager and associate broker with Win Morrison Realty, said they plan to use the property only in the month of August every year. Greene County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jeff Friedman said many former resorts have sold recently. “A sizeable portion of our resorts have sold within the last year and many within the last five months,” Friedman noted. “It’s a never-ending list." That list includes Hotel Vienna and the Thompson House in Windham, Villa Vosilla in Tannersville, and the Washington Irving Inn in Hunter. “It is a shame that we are losing these family-owned resorts,” Friedman said. “It is going to be a vastly different resort community."
