State police gave out more than 1,800 tickets in the Mid-Hudson last weekend

MidHudson News is reporting the March 5 weekend was a busy one for the New York State Police in the Hudson Valley. Troop F issued 986 vehicle and traffic law violation tickets from 5 p.m. Fri., Mar. 5, through 5 a.m. Mon., Mar. 8. Troop F issued tickets for 357 speeding violations, 19 distracted driving violations, 17 seatbelt violations, 15 child restraint violations, 26 move-over violations, and removed 25 impaired motorists from the roadway. They also responded to 36 vehicle accidents. Troop F covers Rockland, Orange, Sullivan, Ulster and Greene counties. At the same time, their colleagues across the river in Troop K issued 877 vehicle and traffic law violation tickets during the same period. Troop K issued 396 tickets for speeding violations, six distracted driving violations, five child restraint violations, 29 move-over violations, and removed 17 impaired motorists from the roadway.
