Advocates want more childhood mental health funding in state budget

Nick Reisman is reporting for State of Politics advocates continue to work to boost mental health spending during the ongoing push toward state budget approval. The Campaign for Healthy Minds, Healthy Kids April 2, urged lawmakers to spend "a substantial portion" of federal funding for mental health and addiction support programs for children and families. The group is a coalition composed of mental health service providers, advocates, and families. The campaign is also encouraging telehealth rate parity, an increase in school-based behavioral supports for kids and increased spending for children in pediatric, home and early care settings.
