No injuries in Valatie house explosion, fire

The Daily Freeman is reporting there appear to have been no injuries Wed., Feb. 5, when a home in Valatie exploded and caught fire, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. Columbia County 911 sent the Valatie Fire Department to 4102 Elm St. in the village about 11:20 a.m. Sheriff's deputies were dispatched shortly after the call and found “some type of explosion” and fire and significant structural damage to the residence. Sheriff’s Office investigators, the Columbia County Fire Coordinators Office and investigators from the state Office of Fire Prevention and Control were working to determine the cause of the explosion.
