Ulster, Columbia gain jobs; employment in Greene drops

The Daily Freeman is reporting Ulster County had the second-highest percentage of new jobs statewide during the 12-month period ending in July. The county’s rate of new jobs rose by 3.3 percent, according to data released by the state Department of Labor, Thu., Aug. 18. During the same period, the number of new jobs rose in Columbia County by 0.6 [point six] percent. In Greene County employment dropped by 0.9 [point nine] percent. Jobs were added in a variety of categories, including educational and health services; professional and business services; and leisure and hospitality.
