Dutchess County tops in local weekly wages

The Mid-Hudson News Network reports in The Daily Freeman that the average weekly wage in Dutchess County, at $969, ranks highest locally, and 83 in the nation, according to the latest figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Delaware ($781) and Greene ($780) counties ranked next, followed by Ulster County ($763), and Columbia County ($734). In comparison, the average weekly wage in Manhattan is $1,732, third in the nation. Average weekly wages in Hudson Valley counties in the second quarter of last year, according to the federal statistics:
• Westchester: $1,215.
• Rockland: $1,003.
• Dutchess: $969.
• Putnam: $ 963.
• Orange: $825.
• Delaware: $781.
• Greene: $780.
• Ulster: $763.
• Sullivan: $758.
• Columbia: $734.
