Albany County sets up DACA hotline

The Altamont Enterprise reports that Albany County has a new hotline for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program recipients to call for assistance from the county’s Regional Immigration Assistance Center. The toll-free number 1-833-DREAMRS (1-833-373-2677) opened Sept. 13 for anyone seeking help about the DACA program, application information, and renewals. On Sept. 5, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the DACA program would end. The Department of Homeland Security said it will no longer accept new DACA applications and will stop accepting renewal requests on Oct. 5. Read the full story in The Altamont Enterprise.
